I work at Rockwell Automation and I am an electrical engineer and the worldwide expert on a communication network called DeviceNet. Over the last 20 years I have gotten the nickname Doctor DeviceNet, but the network name is also shortened to DNet. So as joke I decided to get the vanity plate DR DNET for my Econoline Van. When I bought a new car I got the vanity plate DR DNET1 which is shown in the photo. I actually took the attached picture when I first got the plate so I could e-mail it to my buddies and co-workers.

On Friday, October 10, at 10 a.m., Deputy Registrar Laura Tuttle and her staff invite you to attend the grand "reopening" of the Wapakoneta License Bureau, located at 604 S Blackhoof St.

Earlier this year, the agency underwent a massive renovation and they are extremely proud of the results. This agency has been at this location since 1987 and until this year, nothing had really changed…right down to the 1970's paneled walls and harvest gold color counter tops. Last year, the Deputy Registrar approached the Auglaize County Commissioners, who own the building, and proposed a plan that would nearly double the square footage and give the decor a much needed update. They now have a new beautiful office!

Also, at that location, the Donate Life Mobile Education Unit will be there from 9 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. The Mobile Unit offers hands-on education and compelling real life stories about donation. Click here to learn more about the Mobile Education Vehicle.
This car is a 2007 Dodge Charger SRT-8 Super Bee and is the reincarnation of the Super Bees from the late 60s and early 70s – the badging on the 2007 is identical to the original cars. Since it is yellow, and since it is a SUPER BEE, it seemed obvious that the plates needed to reflect the Bumble Bee family. With all ideas considered, this motorist chose the POLLEN8 tag as the clear winner.

Robby Nowe's pledge to drive safely:
“I am a newly licensed driver in Powell, Ohio. I plan to do everything I can to be an extremely safe driver. I plan on doing this by never texting and driving, always following the speed limit, never driving past curfew, never driving with too many people in the car, and preventing myself from getting distracted by not doing things that will cause my driving to be impaired.”

New Drivers: E-mail us a photo of yourself with your car keys and tell us about your plan to drive safely!

As this quarter's "What's on Your Plate?" winner, Laurel Lewis will receive a decorative license plate with the personalization of their choice.

In 1957, Laurel’s grandmother registered her car in her name. The license plate she was assigned was VX 944. When Laurel’s grandmother stopped driving in late 1970, she asked her daughter, Laurel’s mother, to please continue to use the plate VX 944. When Laurel’s mother stopped driving two years ago, she asked Laurel is she would continue the mother/daughter tradition. Laurel retold the story to her 21 year-old daughter and before she had the chance to finish, her daughter (with tears in her eyes) asked if she too could continue the tradition someday. Every time Laurel sees her plate, she thinks of her mother and grandmother and takes comfort knowing her daughter will feel the same way someday.

Tell us about your personalized license plate! E-mail us a photo of you with your plate and tell us how you chose your plate's message. Plates must be current and valid. Winners selected quarterly.
